Reviews
OnBoard Consulting (OBC) Personnel Reviews are designed to:
- Provide high quality information to management and/or governing bodies about staff performance
- Inform professional development
- Provide a structured opportunity for comment on important job-related issues
These reviews are concise (no more than one day of interviews), non-threatening yet searching, and represent excellent value for money.
How does an OBC Review take place?
An independent consultant conducts the review of your organization's staff member (reviewee).
The review provides an account of the extent of realisation of the reviewee's personal expectations of performance and achievement in selected areas of his/her professional activity. The areas of review are selected by the person initiating the review, normally in consultation with the reviewee.
The Review Process
A full review normally takes one day. It takes the following form:
- A directed interview with the reviewee for approximately two and a half hours in the morning
- Shorter interviews in the afternoon, with up to six other participants who speak about the reviewee
- A short meeting afterwards with the initiator of the review
- The production of a written report, as soon as practicable after the day of the review
- The completion of a follow-up document by the reviewee after receipt of the report
Advantages of the OBC External Review
- Objectivity and Fairness: with an external consultant conducting the review, the initiators of the review can take a step back from the process, thereby promoting objectivity and fairness
- Impartiality: OBC is not formally associated with any other organisation
- Confidentiality: OBC maintains a strict code of confidentiality
Examples of Areas of Review
Relationship to and interaction with other staff members; Relationship to and interaction with clients; Relationship to and interaction with those in leadership within the organisation; Relationship to and interaction with the broader community; Personal Organisation; Commitment to Professional Development; etc.
